PROVINCE OF ENNA · INLAND
Troina is a wonderful Sicilian village with a history spanning thousands of years.

The first settlements date back to prehistory and to the very important period of Greek rule. They were followed by the Romans, the Byzantines and the Arabs, who made Troina a major military fortress. The village was also the first Norman capital and the first bishop’s seat in Sicily. In the heart of Sicily, Troina is remembered for its striking landscapes, cobbled lanes, historic palaces and old churches. Surrounded by unspoilt nature, it is also perfect for hiking and outdoor activities. Troina is an authentic and fascinating destination in Sicily.
