PROVINCE OF PALERMO · INLAND
Petralia Soprana is a magical village in the Madonie, one of the main mountain ranges of Sicily.

The first inhabitants were the Sicani, followed by the Arabs, who turned the place into a powerful military centre. Later the Normans, under King Roger II, ruled here, and only in the mid-13th century did people begin to speak of Petralia Soprana. This fascinating village offers an authentic experience, with cobbled lanes, stone houses and old churches that take visitors back in time. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, the village is also ideal for outdoor activities and for enjoying its restaurants and craft workshops.
